The South Bay Creative Writers Group sponsors or supports a variety of opportunities for local writers:
Main Group
The “South Bay Local Writers Group” meets on the 1st Saturday of each month at the Redondo Beach Main Library (10:30am-Noon). Free and open to the public.
Creative Writers Workshop
Smaller groups focused on supportive critique of members’ work (all Saturdays except the 1st of each month, 10:30-Noon). Conducted at a private residence and requires RSVP.
Creative Screenwriters Workshop
Smaller groups focused on supportive critique of members’ screenplays (Sundays, 1:30-3:30 pm). Conducted at a private residence and requires RSVP.
South Bay Screenwriters
“South Bay Screenwriters” is a separate meet-up (distinct from the South Bay Creative Writers Group) whose members share and provide feedback on each other’s screenplays. The format is similar to the Creative Screenwriters Workshop. Meets weekly on Wednesday evenings (7:00-9:30pm) adjacent to the South Bay Galleria: 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month are conducted at Coco’s on Hawthorne Blvd, while 2nd & 4th Wednesday are across the street at Total Wine & More.
Writers are welcome to join and participate in both meet-up groups.
